花曇の空の下、花冷えの寒気の中ではあったけれども、千鳥ヶ淵には人の群れ、群れ、群れ。花時らしい光景といえなくもないが、先を急ごうにも、写真に収めようにも、思うに任せない。一瞬の隙間にようやく1，2枚。遠くには花筏。先日の春の嵐の置き土産かと思われて。人垣に紛れつつ、歩を進めてみれば、両側から伸びた低めの枝が天を覆い、花の雲のごとくに。
所用でもなければ、この時期にこの場所へは訪れることもなかったであろうけれど、時季に時季の花を愛でられたのはよかったかもしれない。喧騒から離れて眺めると、桜の重なりは花霞となっていて、これだけ多くの人に観られていても、どことなく寂しげに見えたのは寒さのせいか。
